Originally designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1987, the Air TrainerâŻ1 was Nikeâs first cross-training shoe, built to perform across multiple sports environmentsârunning, tennis, weightlifting and court gamesâall with one multifunctional silhouette. Worn by icons like Bo Jackson and John McEnroe, it revolutionized athletic footwear.
Design & Materials:
This vintage SB version features a mixed suede, nubuck, and leather upper, covered in safari-inspired animal print debossing and hairy suede materials, with color-coordinated laces and ArtsâRec branded adjustable toe straps for a bold aesthetic. A Pink Quartz fuzzy Swoosh and thematic sockliner artwork nod to local wildlife inspiration.
